An episode of the Australian variety series.  Performers include: Graham Kennedy (of course), comedian Joff Ellen, singer Peggy Hayama, clown Don Saunders, dancer/singer Arthur Duncan, vocal group The Starr Sisters, singer Elaine McKenna, singer Johnny Rohan, hostess Panda Lisner, and actress Rosie Sturgess.  Episode also features lots of original commercials! Some of these ads are done by Evie Hayes. I assure you that not all Australian TV of the 1960s was so jam-packed with ads....EDIT: I...

An episode of the Australian pop music series.  Performers include Don Lane, Paul Wayne, The Thin Men, Inez Amaya, Lee Sanders, and Tony Barber. Episode also includes a segment where Brian reads light-hearted news stories.   Note: The final 15 minutes of this episode is taken up by a period costume segment....which I thought was cool, but may seem strange to others.

An episode of the Australian pop music series. This episode is dedicated to hits of 1957-1958. I feel the song selection could have been better.... Performers include: Sylvia Raye, Ja-Ar, Billy Thorpe, The Flanagans, Lee Sanders, Jacki Weaver, and Warren Williams.  Note: Brian Henderson says the show started in 1957. Actually, it started 1958, but Bandstand was preceded by the series "Accent on Youth" (1958), which in turn was preceded by "TV Disc Jockey" (1957-1958).

An episode of the Australian pop music series. This episode has an odd and lighthearted "Mexican/Spanish" theme. Performers include: Anne and Jimmy Murphy, Sir John Rowles (as Ja-Ar), Robyn Alvarez (nice to see her back on the show), Don Lane, and Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass.  Note: Don Lane, an American, stayed in Australia and was a popular talk show host. An unsold TV pilot from 1963 called "The Plot Thickens". Same concept as the early 1950s series "Crawford Mystery Theatre" (of which only a single kinescope survives...anyone able to upload it?). In this pilot, a panel is shown a short film about a crime, and then has to guess who the guilty person is. Features Groucho Marx as one of the panel members. Could someone please check that this is public domain?

An episode of the 1950's Television program "Winky Dink and You". Innovative, original, creative and unique. Praised by Microsoft mogul Bill Gates as "the first interactive TV show". That said, without it's original context, it's little more than a historic curiousity, and some viewers may find it very difficult to watch.

An episode of the Australian pop music series. Performers include: Lucky Starr, Lana Cantrell, Jenny, Johnny Devlin, and (via archive footage) Patsy Ann Noble.  A single commercial is also intact, and there's an interview with Adam Faith and John Leyton (though they do not perform in the episode).

An episode of the Australian pop music series. Performers include: Normie Rowe, Warren Williams, Sharon Black (I love her outfit during her first song), Bryan Davies, Jay Justin, and Lee Sanders.  This episode also contains footage of Brian Henderson's wedding.  This episode contains a set malfunction! Whoops!  Although originally recorded on videotape, the surviving copy is a kinescope.

An episode of the Australian pop music series. Performers include: The Delltones (a group which were together into the 2010s), Laurel Lea, Warren Williams, Gale Garnett, Johnny O'Keefe, and Jacki Weaver (yes, she was already around by then).   There's also a sequence featuring the Shirley Regan Dancers shot on the Angelina Lauro cruise ship. Note: although originally recorded on videotape, the surviving copy is a kinescope.

An incomplete episode of the Australian pop music series. Performers include: Lynne Fletcher, Sandy Scott, Paul and Paula, and acrobats The Del Ray Brothers.  Note: This episode is incomplete. Some of the footage missing from this episode appears in the 30 May 1964 episode I uploaded . Unfortunately, very few 1964 episodes of this series seem to survive, so we are lucky this survives at all.

Last one I have. Kind of cool to see a 1950's TV studio step outside of the box. An early experiment in TV.

A nice commercial for Old Spice. I took this from a 1980 off-air tape recording, but I don't know when it aired originally. Is this OK to upload? It does seem to lack a copyright notice....

An episode of the Australian pop music series.  Performers include Anne and Jimmy Murphy, Tony Barber, The Flanagans, The Groop, Sylvia Penzes (not sure of her name, might be mistaken), and Jeff St. John. Additionally, Brian Henderson recites a sort of poem. Plus, the Bandstand Band perform an instrumental.  There's also a segment featuring an interview with an expert on fashion.  Note: this episode was originally recorded on videotape, but the surviving copy is a kinescope.

An episode of the Australian pop music series. Performers include: Bill and Boyd, Laurel Lea, Little Pattie, Janice Slater, Rim D. Paul, The Flanagans, and the Bee Gees.  Note: The Bee Gees segment is a proto music video, something that "Bandstand" did on various occasions.

Mr. Conklin spends the morning locked in the cafeteria freezer when Miss Brooks unknowingly locks him in. Later, to show Mr. Boynton how "domestic" she is, Connie offers to cook dinner for him on his new stove. (Mrs. Davis immediately gets to work since Connie can't cook.) At Mr. Boynton's, Miss Brooks turns the stove on to heat the meal, not realizing that the appliance hasn't been properly lit. With a kitchen full of gas, Mr. Conklin wanders in looking for his tool kit. With the...

An episode of the Australian pop music TV series. Although the series began in 1958, I believe this is one of the earliest surviving episodes.  Performers include: Johnny Devlin, The Graduates, Patti Monroe, Grade Wicker, The Devils, Kim Nichols, The Cherrytones, Rod Devlin, Brian Penglase, and Johnny Byrell. Also featured: several segments of teenagers dancing to American records.  Contains original product placement for Coca-Cola! I hope I got the date correct...I might be mistaken on it.

An episode of the Australian pop music series.  This episode is heavily incomplete. If you link to it or post it elsewhere, please note it is incomplete..... Performers include Ron Polson, Robyn Alvarez, The Delltones, Patty Markham, Bee Gees, and Peter Brandon. Additionally, Col Joye appears in an amusing tennis match. Note: the opening titles feature the call-signs of the stations showing the program (GTV, TCN, CTC, etc....). I find this interesting as call-signs are pretty much no longer...

An episode of the Australian pop music series.  Performers include Johnny O'Keefe, Maria Blanche, The Flanagans, Yvonne Barrett, John Rowles (aka Ja-Ar), and Noeleen Batley. Along with the songs, there's also a segment where Brian Henderson reads some amusing news stories (Henderson was actually a newsreader on TCN-9 for many years).  Though originally recorded on videotape, the surviving copy is a kinescope.

A 1956 episode of Rosemary Clooney's variety series. This episode features Buster Keaton doing two comedy sketches, plus child Gail Stone doing two songs. Unfortunately, this copy has two watermarks which I cannot remove, though they are very different watermarks than usual and they only occur during the opening titles.

Convicted killer Calvin Gannis is being escorted to this place of execution but escapes after a road accident. He finds himself in a ghost town, seemingly inhabited by only the widowed Sally and her young son Joey. However, an oak tree which has been dead for decades suddenly starts to grow again, spelling out justice for Gannis.
